On October 1, 2025, in front of a full house, Cureon – the new Innovation Center for MedTech and BioTech – officially opened its doors at High Tech Campus Eindhoven. The initiative, driven by High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Smart BioMaterials Consortium (SBMC), Brainport Development, and Brabant Development Agency (BOM), marks a major step forward for healthcare innovation in the region.

Professor Marianne Verhaar, leading internist specialized in kidney disease, head of the Nephrology Department at UMC Utrecht, led the UMCU’s strategic program Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cells, Regenerative Medicine Utrecht for over 10 years, and one of the leaders of the RegMed XB Kidney Moonshot.

After Maastricht and Utrecht, the new workspace at Bio‑Incubator 4, Leuven, is also dedicated to advancing biomedical life sciences, supporting both start-ups, and innovators.
