Within the RegMed XB consortium, researchers are developing solutions to repair joint defects, primarily in the knee, through regenerative medicine. These efforts are carried out within the Osteoarthritis (OA) Moonshot and supported by the broader infrastructure of the RegMed XB Pilot Factory, one of the largest international infrastructures for regenerative medicine.

The Innovation Center for Advanced Therapies (ICAT), part of UMC Utrecht, has moved into Plus Ultra Utrecht at Utrecht Science Park. This step strengthens the regional infrastructure for regenerative medicine and supports the activities of the RegMed XB Pilot Factory.

BioGeneration Ventures (BGV) has announced the close of FIRST II (Fonds InvesteringsRijpe Starters), reaching 12 million euro to support the creation and development of early-stage life sciences start-ups emerging from Dutch academic research.
