Bernard Mulder, MD, MBA, as General Director, Bernard leads with a wealth of experience, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to driving positive change within the field of regenerative medicine.
Bernard's academic achievements include a distinguished medical degree from Leiden University and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. He has over twenty-five years of experience within the life sciences sector of which he spent a decade abroad, where he assumed various medical, marketing, sales, and managerial roles.
As General Director, Bernard is mainly responsible for strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and fostering innovation, aligning perfectly with his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation.
Why Bernard is passionate about our mission:
"It is all about the patient: it highly motivates me to work on bringing regenerative medicine solutions to patients that will cure the diseases they are suffering from. The idea that patients will be able to return to a more “normal” life is very inspiring. I realize very well that one needs to work together with many (international) partners to get to these solutions and make it possible: working together is the cornerstone of knowledge development and progress. The journey to get affordable and available solutions to the market does not go without building scaling capacity and a strong ecosystem. I am fully committed to helping construct these building blocks so that the dream comes true!"
In Bernards spare time, he enjoys playing spending time with the family, playing the piano and during the summer navigating sailing boats.
With over 25 years of senior management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly abroad, Erik made a deliberate transition to the cure and care market. Erik studied at Nyenrode Business University and obtained his MBA from the KU in Leuven, Belgium.
As director of business operations Erik is primarily responsible for the RegMed XB Pilot Factory. Erik possesses a grasp of long-term strategies and collaborates with others to achieve sustainable business objectives.
Furthermore, his commitment to shaping future business leaders is evident through his role as an examiner and supervisor for International Business at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Armed with a Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration acquired from Maastricht University, along with extensive experience across various financial roles, Olaf significantly enhances the organization's capabilities as Funding and Finance Manager. Olaf has an eye for detail, an analytical mindset and robust strategic thinking abilities. His principal mandate revolves around ensuring a solid financial basis for achieving the consortium's objectives.
Renate de Cler , Regmed XB’s Project Management Lead, is an accomplished professional with over 24 years of experience in diverse therapeutic areas across preclinical and clinical settings. Renate strongly beliefs in leading by example: a combination of vision, helicopter view, structure and attention to persons behind the tasks.
Prior to joining RegMed XB, Renate headed the Project Management and Solutions department for the EMEA area. At the start of her carreer, she started in the preclinical setting in one of the Academic hospitals in The Netherlands, followed by clinical trial positions with increasing managerial responsibility.
At RegMed XB, Renate is not only responsible for overseeing project management, but also company-wide initiatives and innovations. Having held strategic roles in the clinical trial industry, Renate possesses an in-depth understanding of how to bring new medicines to the patients.
Renate’s motivation to be part of RegMed’s journey are the patients. “Being able to work with highly motivated teams and investigators to create regenerative medicines solutions for chronic sick patients is very motivating. How great would it be if patients can have access to these (affordable) solutions and can be cured. That is a vision and a goal that literally makes the world a bit better, step by step.
We are not there yet, but with every milestone or every step, we are getting closer to that goal. I am grateful to be part of that road.”
Academically, Renate holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Health Sciences (Honours), with specialties in Pathobiology, Oncology, and Neurology from Radboud University in The Netherlands.
In Renate’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading/writing books, and working in her rose garden.
Andromache Goethals, is our dynamic Senior Programme Manager at RegMed XB - Flanders. With an extensive background in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries, Andromache is dedicated to driving transformative projects in regenerative medicine. She holds a Research Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Maastricht University, providing her with profound insights into the complexities of the human body. Andromache’s career journey began in early-phase pharmacological clinical research, where she quickly took on more responsibilities. She later expanded her expertise to include medical devices, showcasing her adaptability and broad skill set.
At RegMed XB, Andromache manages the Moonshots, ambitious scientific programs in regenerative medicine, which are at heart of RegMed XB’s mission. Based in Leuven, she is the pioneering employee of the Flemish branch of RegMed XB. In addition to program management, she actively seeks partnerships in Flanders to expand the RegMed XB network, while consistently liaising with her colleagues in the Netherlands to ensure seamless collaboration and integration across the RegMed XB consortium.

Outside of work, Andromache is always on the move. She’s an avid rock climber and kite surfer, loves experimenting in the kitchen, and has a passion for exploring new places around the globe. These activities not only enrich her life but also spark fresh ideas and inspiration for her professional endeavours.
As a passionate project manager, Lena her primary objective is to unite diverse partners from academia and industry, fostering seamless collaboration and collective progress. In addition, she prioritizes the active involvement of patient experts in the RegMed XB Moonshot endeavors, ensuring their valuable perspectives shape our research and development processes holistically.
Lena holds a Research Master degree in Epidemiology and a Master’s degree in Health Policy, Innovation and Management and boasts extensive experience as a project manager. In her role, she is dedicated to aligning research objectives for regenerative medicine solutions with the successful execution of projects. Helping people to create a notion on the benefits of collaboration and possible positive effects on public health are core to her motivation.

Sophie-Charlotte holds the position of Legal Counsel/operations manager at RegMed XB. Sophie is primarily responsible for all legal matters within RegMed XB. She also is responsible for the organization of the Annual Conference of RegMed XB.
Sophie has a master's degree in law attained from Maastricht University; her motivation to harness her analytical and organizational skills for a purpose-driven and socially influential role prompted her to pursue a change in her career path. Therefore, she is proud to be a member of the RegMed XB team and contribute to improving the life of patients.

In Sophie's spare time, she enjoys running and good dinner and drinks with friends.
With a broad academic background in biomedical sciences, engineering, and business, Dominique works to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Dominique thrives on innovation and connecting with brilliant minds pushing the boundaries of human knowledge.
With an investor-like mindset, Dominique analyses research projects and helps develop a translational strategy for early-stage innovations to attract investments and progress toward the clinic.

With over 15 years of experience in strategic communication and marketing within the healthcare and educational sectors, Stephanie joined the RegMed XB team as an Communications Manager in October 2024.
Stephanie is skilled at translating complex subjects into clear, accessible content and developing targeted communication strategies for both online and offline platforms. Her strong networking skills enable her to connect effectively with various stakeholders.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in sports like running.

With 12 years of experience as a personal management assistant, Kelly became a valuable member of the RegMed XB team in May 2024. As an executive assistant, Kelly supports the Pilot Factory, Moonshots, and Business Developers with their projects, coordinating all appointments and ensuring smooth operations.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys kickboxing once a week and bartending at the local soccer club on Sundays. She also takes daily long walks with her dog, a Great Swiss Mountain Dog.

With a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Schoevers degree in Office Management, Marian joined the RegMed XB team as an Executive Assistant in May 2024. In her role, she supports the Managing Director and his team by coordinating all appointments and ensuring smooth operations.
Outside of work, Marian enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in sports such as tennis.
