River BioMedics, a drug discovery company using advanced 3D human cardiac models, today announced the closure of a 1.8 million Euro seed funding round to progress its research and innovation programs for cardiovascular disease targets and compounds. River BioMedics addresses the high unmet medical need of cardiac diseases, with a focus on heart failure.

Maastricht, 23 December 2021 – RegMed XB has received the first subsidy of 23 million euros from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. This is the start of the realization of the national pilot factory for regenerative medicine after the Dutch cabinet decided on 9 April this year to fund the National Growth Fund proposal of RegMed XB.

Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC), the DanStem Institute at the University of Copenhagen and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne will jointly receive 300 million euros from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
