Martin Verkuijl - Business Developer

Martin Verkuijl PhD, Business Developer at RegMed XB, began his industry career at Novartis in the UK, where he led a pharmacology laboratory and served as a global project leader in early drug discovery. In this role, he guided projects from hit identification through lead optimization and pharmacological characterization towards pre-clinical toxicology studies. He later returned to the Netherlands to lead the Neuroscience Discovery team at Nutricia Research, developing nutritional concepts for neurology and supporting biomarker research and clinical studies. He then joined Scenic Biotech in Amsterdam as a Senior Programme Director, overseeing drug discovery activities for rare diseases and guiding translational research. Through these roles, he has contributed to shaping target product profiles, research strategies, and plans supporting clinical development. More recently he was Biotech Booster Business Developer at Business Generator Groningen where he supported scientists with the valorization of their biomedical research.

Why Martin is passionate about our mission: Regenerative medicine offers new opportunities for improving treatment options for people with chronic and rare diseases. Throughout my career, I have worked to help move scientific ideas closer to practical application, and I have seen how progress often comes through steady, collaborative effort. At RegMed XB, I contribute to developing the infrastructure and partnerships needed to support this work. I value being part of an environment that brings together expertise from many areas.
