The partners work together to tackle some of the greatest challenges in regenerative medicine, while building a community of researchers and companies to realize health and economic benefits. The RegMedXB Cardiac Moonshot program aims at developing innovative strategies to regenerate the tissues of the heart, including the myocardium, heart valves and blood vessels.
The current project concentrates on developing cartilage organoids from iPSCs in suspension culture and their use in hyaline neo-cartilage formation. For this you will investigate the mechanobiological induction and culture conditions of induced chondrocytes and organoid self-assembly using advanced culture platforms and characterization assays. The produced organoids will be combined with innovative relaxing hydrogels and in a bi-directional loaded ex vivo osteochondral culture bioreactor to investigate their mechanism for formation into neo-cartilage.
